‘SEEING THROUGH THE VEIL’

Anne Baring is a Jungian analyst - author and co-author of several books including ‘The Dream of the Cosmos: who are we and why are we here?’ (2012). Her work is devoted to the recognition that we live in an ensouled world and to the restoration of the lost sense of communion between us and the invisible dimension of the universe that she feels is the source of all that we call ‘life’.  www.annebaring.com  

Anne will discuss how current beliefs about death and the censorship of material on non-ordinary experiences constrict the human spirit and limit the horizon of our sight. She will explore the approach to death of earlier cultures and also the idea of the ‘subtle’ or ‘light’ body that offers us a very different understanding of the survival of the soul. Could it be that the apparent finality of death is the greatest of our illusions? Relinquishing old beliefs can alleviate the trauma of bereavement and give us trust and hope in our survival.


Anita Moorjani is an inter-cultural communication trainer by profession, and lives in Hong Kong. In 2002, she was diagnosed with cancer, which slowly spread throughout her whole body, via her lymphatic system. By early 2006, she had tumours the size of lemons, from the base of her skull all the way down to her abdomen. On February 2nd 2006, her organs finally began to shut down and she went into a coma. The doctors at the hospital informed her distressed family that she was in her final hours of life, and was not going to make it through the night.  www.anitamoorjani.com

Anita will speak about her remarkable near death experience, which took place during what was supposed to be her final hours of life. She felt as though she entered another dimension and was faced with a choice of whether to return to life or not.  Although seemingly in a coma to all who were observing, she experienced heightened awareness of everything that was taking place around her, as well as great clarity and understanding of her life and purpose here on earth.  Anita subsequently chose to return to life when she understood that ‘heaven’ is a state, and not a place. This subsequently led to a remarkable and complete recovery of her health.
